Yamaha’s global investment with regard to manufacturing has been accelerating during the last few years, with factory development in India, and Indonesia. Pianos have been manufactured by Yamaha in Indonesia for a few years, harnessing the technical skills and attention to detail from the Japanese factories and the natural esources available from the country, to produce extremely good instruments at very reasonable price points.
The ‘b Series’ is crafted using Yamaha manufactured components (nearly 5,500 in each piano) which assists in ensuring there are few supply chain issues. The use of aluminium for the action rail gives a greater resilience to temperature fluctuations, while the steel, copper, and nickel plated steel pins are of a superior quality founf in instruments at this price point. The b2, and b3 utilise solid spruce soundboards, while the b1 is laminated (not too critical for a piano of this height), and these are slightly curved by the 20 tonnes of pressure exerted which gives additional resonance to the sound.
The use of in-house manufacture and expertise means that cost savings are passed on to you, the customer, as the quality, and sound production testifies.
